Our self-serve plant stand is open on the farm. Open every day 8AM until dark. For now we have 18 tomato varieties ( a few more to come) in 4" pots, and 6paks of mixed lettuce, mixed kale, and a combo broccoli and cauliflower pak. Peppers - hot and sweet, eggplant, cucumbers, and zucchini will be ready in about a week.

Another farm that has sprouted from Spring Hill Farm will be starting Portland Farmers Market tomorrow 4/11. Sunrise Organic Farm LLC is made up of brothers Paulo and Floriberto Martinez and their wives Gladis and Leanilda. Paulo and "Berto" were our 2 top managers for 20 years. Together with their wives they have a combined 55+yrs at Springhill. They are wonderful people and grow beautiful and great tasting produce. Look for them and come say HI tomorrow at the PSU mkt.

We'll be selling veggie starts again this year at our self-serve stand on the farm starting sometime in late April. Mostly we'll have all kinds of tomatoes, peppers, eggplant, cucumbers, zucchini, lettuce, and various green.

2 of our long time employees, Vicki+Zenon, have started Eloisa Organic Farm and will be at the Portland Farmers Mkt tomorrow ,3/14, for their 1st ever market. Come support them and find a lot of your old favorite Spring Hill Farm favorite vegetables along with a few new surprises.

Tomorrow's Saturday market will be the last market of the last season for Spring Hill Farm.After 30 years of farming Spring Hill Organic Farm is saying goodbye.

When we showed up at the Portland Farmers Market its 1st year we weren't sure if the market or us would survive for long. Both of us were on shaky ground. It took a lot of hard work on both sides but we slowly grew together eventually both becoming thriving ventures.

The incredible response we got from the Portland customers gave us hope that we could make a living growing and selling vegetables. And it was the continuing enthusiasm, support , and smiling faces we experienced each week that gave us renewed energy to help get us through the long seasons.

We've met a lot of wonderful people and made a lot of friends among our incredible staff, vendors, and customers over the years. So, to everyone in our market family, thank you for your years of support and encouragement. It's been a privilege to provide you with produce from our humble fields to your tables.

I hope you have a chance to come by our booth tomorrow to celebrate and say farewell.
