About the ranch:
Come hunt the historic Collins Creek Ranch located 15 miles north of Albany, Texas on U.S. Highway 283 in northern Shackelford County. This family run ranch consists of 5,000 plus acres of prime wildlife habitat. The combination of rolling hills and thick mesquite and the fact that the Clear Fork of the Brazos runs through the ranch makes it a hunter’s paradise. This area of Texa
s has produced some of the finest hunting opportunities anywhere in the past 15 years. The whitetail deer were introduced again to this area in the early 40’s. With the big ranches and limited hunting pressure the herds have multiplies and make for a great hunt. The miles of river and its lumbering Pecan trees makes even the most seasoned turkey hunter shiver. With a little help from Mother Nature, this area can wear out the best pair of hunting boots. Collins Creek ranch borders Texas Highway 283 and lies between two large ranches with active wildlife programs. The Lambshead ranch borders the Collins Creek on the north and the Nail Ranch borders the Collins Creek to the west. The Clear Fork of the Brazos runs along the northeast boundary of the ranch. Collins Creek is a working cattle ranch with registered Angus and Hereford cattle. As you visit Collins Creek you will see how the ranch has blended a working cattle ranch into one of the best wildlife areas in the state that features trophy class white tail deer mixed with accommodations as comfortable or as rustic as the avid hunter or guest may desire. Sit back and enjoy the outdoors at its best! Whitetail Hunts:
Whitetail hunts are three day “all inclusive” hunts which begin at noon on one day and end at noon on the fourth day. You can expect to see numerous bucks per day with our strict management plan. The plan consists of letting the deer grow up to meet their full potential. Our hunts consist of stand hunting over feeders and food plots, spot and stalk rattling. The ranch is surveyed every year to make sure things are in balance. We only take a limited number of bucks which also ensures the best opportunity for our hunters. You can expect to see deer in the range of 120 B.C. and up. We have no guarantees because there are few things that we can control. All hunts are set up to two hunters with one guide unless other accommodations are made. Our guides are knowledgeable and personable. We like the hunters to feel like friends-not clients. The guides will do their best to ensure every hunter has the opportunity to harvest a deer they want. Dove Hunts:
Opening day of dove season should be a named holiday in Shackelford County. With grain fields and sunflower fields Shackelford County has always been a hotspot for dove hunters. Collins Creek Ranch offers 2 day all inclusive hunts, including corporate hunts of up to twenty hunters. We also offer day hunts. Call for availability. Turkey Hunts:
