Spring Lake Family Farms is a family owned business, located in Albemarle, North Carolina. Our farm works very diligently to grow our produce with minimal use of pesticides. We prefer to work with natural pest control such as beneficial predatory insects. On the rare occasion that we do have to use a pesticide, we use safe products such as Neem oil which are organic in nature and not harmful and h
arsh. Our motto is not to use anything in our growing process that we ourselves would not want to put in our bodies. While this presents more challenges to plant growth and pest insect control, we feel it is necessary for the health of our customers. Our major products are salad greens and tomatoes. Other produce we first try to source from growers in our local community and then branch out farther as needed. Since not all produce can be grown year around some of the hyper local produce is seasonal, however, we always seek to source products as local as is possible. We have a beautiful store front specializing in local foods and produce, and we work as a distributor to local restaurants in our area. Spring Lake Family Farms’ mission is to provide our community with naturally grown produce at affordable prices, our customers with excellent service, and to educate our community on the benefits of working together as producers.
