No time like the present

I have an intimidatingly long list of things to get done before fall hits so instead of slamming myself full in August like usual I’m trying to get ahead of the ball.

Finally got to test out our Daay paddle sweep from in the new bin!

I won’t have to get in the bin to sweep at all which saves me time and is a lot safer than working around an auger sweep.

I could see us putting Daay paddle sweeps in our existing bins eventually too. Anything to reduce augers around herešŸ˜†

This is how we’ve been successful with grain marketing the last several years.

Thoughts?

Moved a little corn to town with some style this week

This was my first time using one of the 6 new-to-us gravity wagons. I’m pretty excited to have them all out for fall!

Doug’s thoughts on his first spring as a landlord & ā€˜hired man’ combo now that he is retired from farming

I have really enjoyed working alongside Doug this spring and having him still involved in the operations. It’s nice to have an experienced farmer around to bounce ideas off too. On top of it he is a better sprayer operator than me toošŸ˜†

Spraying a new field!

Here’s a brief overview of starting our last pre-emerge spraying field for 2026. So far I’ve really liked this sprayer setup!

Year 4 of running SteadySteer on our farm

I didn’t showcase it here but this system can also turn you around on the ends of the field and all I have to do is lift/lower the implement. (I have to steer with my brakes in this tractor so that doesn’t work in this circumstance- but I use it 90% of the time in the tillage tractor)

Also I apologize for the squeaking- that is my steering column and it needs some TLC
