Spring is such a busy time on the farm! We have cows back on fresh green grass and at the same time we are starting to prepare for winter! Been busy getting hay cut and baled while the cows are enjoying their grass! Also, our oldest went to prom this past weekend and in true farm girl fashion was in the hayfield Sunday afternoon after church! Such a wonderful time of year on the farm💜🐮

We have amazing news!! After almost a week of being down the cream separator is back up and running! With some help from our friends, it is now fixed so we should be back to business as usual this week! Thank you to our very patient and understanding members whose coffee might not have been as creamy or delicious as usual! Our girls are making sure they do their part by eating up the green grass around here! Your support means so much to us!❤️🍀🐮

Good morning. I don’t know about you all but we sure are looking forward to spring around here! We are also taking advantage of the sunny morning before rain comes in to get a few pictures of some of the babies on the farm right now! This is our calf that was born last week. The kids named him Peanut since his mom is Cashew! And this is one of the many lambs we have right now as well! He was the most curious about Peanut! This week has been a good one! We welcomed a healthy bull calf to the farm! He was a good size and we had to help mama with delivery but they are both doing well! Farming is our passion but some days it is hard! This week has been a tough one for us. This beautiful girl here is Specialty. She was due to have a calf on Friday. She ruptured her uterus this morning and she and her calf died. Days like this make you want to throw in the towel but farming also teaches you that you must persevere! So as we mourned her loss, we celebrated the birth of two healthy lambs! And so is life, pain and joy all mixed into one! Specialty will be missed here on the farm❤️‍🩹💜🐮

This evening as we get ready to go milk cows I am so grateful for our herdshare members and the patience and grace they constantly show us! This morning we were prepping for deliveries and Luke was going out to check on one of the calves and came to the back door right as I was ready to leave looking like this! Poor thing was trying to help and put fence back where it belonged after the wind had blown it down. (In case anyone wonders, this is not just mud on him)😂. This little episode made us late for deliveries on this cold, windy day! I did not have one single complaint or unkind thing said when I texted everyone to tell them we would be a few minutes late! When I say we are so blessed to have such great members, I truly mean it! Folks take time out of their busy lives to meet us to pick up products that we work so hard to provide and we truly appreciate everyone so much! You guys make it possible for us to do what we love and we are so grateful! Thank you all!🐮💜

Good morning. We hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas! We enjoyed lots of family time and a calm day(as much as you can have that with small kiddos)😂😂 The girls enjoyed their delicious haylage, from the summer, for Christmas! So last week was a bit challenging here on the farm. We had been having drops in water pressure for over a week and last Thursday it became apparent after morning milking that we had a significant problem. We ended up spending most of the day and into the night pulling up the well(twice) but were able to get a new pump installed about 9:30pm. What was made very apparent to us was that we can count on good friends when you need them! They showed up and talked us through it over the phone until we were able to restore water. And boy did the cows appreciate it! Did you know that a lactating cow will drink between 30 and 50 gallons of water per day!! This time of year especially when everyone is so busy, it’s so nice to know we have folks who are always willing to lend a hand! We also had a beautiful new calf born last week! A bull calf this time but more milk for you guys in the coming weeks! 🐮🎄

I want to thank all of our amazing customers and friends for all the prayers and well wishes for our girl yesterday! We were so blessed to have people in place to help us in the ways we needed throughout the day! And the patience of our “regular” customers yesterday in all the craziness was so appreciated! Our girl was going in for a simple procedure but simple and her have never really gone together! Her one our surgery turned into more like five in the operating room! Happy to say she is doing fine but made for a very long day yesterday! We made it home yesterday evening with a very, tired and sore little girl! Here’s to a calmer day today! Please go ahead and get your orders in for the weekend! We will have limited supply and I want to accommodate as many of you as I can! Thank you again!💜

Good Monday morning! I don’t know about you guys but here on the farm we are going to soak up these last hours of warm weather! That being said, we have a busy start to the week and one of our little farmers is having surgery this week so please get your orders in as early as you can to make sure you get your products this week! Yesterday was a good one! Last year one of our cows, Lyssa, had a premature birth and lost twins. Very sad for all of us. Well yesterday she had a beautiful heifer with zero problems! She and little miss are doing great on this chilly morning! So by weeks end we should have some more milk going towards you amazing customers! Thank you for your continued support🐮🍁🍂

Yesterday we took some time and went down to Warrenton where Williams Equipment, LLC put on a demo of some Vermeer equipment! We had such an amazing time! The only problem we may have is that Luke now seems to be a Vermeer boy😂😂 But I guess he can have a John Deere to pull his Vermeer equipment!!

Fridays on the farm sure are beautiful! We are enjoying the last few warm days! We baled the last of the hay for the year this morning and then got it up before the rain comes in tomorrow. If you will notice in the pictures, Caleb is waiting on me so feet up in the truck is the way to go😂🍂🍁🐮

Good morning on this beautiful fall day! So yesterday we were prepping to go on deliveries and the cows decided the grass truly was “greener on the other side” We have avoided electric fence for a while because the kids were small and didn’t want anyone hurt. Well at this point the kiddos are old enough to understand. With this cooler weather the cows have been testing us a lot. So thanks to one of our amazing customers, who sold fencing supplies for years, we were able to find some great supplies to get us started! So late yesterday evening we got the fence up and put them in a field with millet and grass. They were so happy! The farm the cows came from had them trained to electric fence so they caught on very quickly. Now we can extent the season for fresh forage even longer! What a blessing!

This sweet girl is growing so nicely already! After much deliberation we decided on Grace but the kids will call her Gracie! We have all learned on this farm that we all need a little grace in our lives! Thank you for all of the suggestions on names! Hopefully we will have some more calves before the end of the year to name as well!
Now that her mama is in the milking rotation we have more milk! We appreciate all of the patience and grace our customers have shown us over the summer with lower milk supply! With the increase in milk feel free to send us your orders!

We have had a string of bull calves born here on the farm this year but our that streak was broken Sunday, amidst the rain storms! Glacier, our most recent purchase, gave us a sweet heifer calf! A beautiful sight to come home to after a wonderful morning at church! We are still tossing around potential names but any suggestions are welcome and have to start with a “G” For reference her mother is Glacier and her Grandmother is Glory.

Good morning to our amazing customers! I’m sorry we’ve been so absent on here lately. We appreciate so much all of those who have stuck with us through this crazy season! Summer on the farm is always so busy! We’ve added more cows and had some new calves! We’ve been blessed to get a good bit of hay stored up for winter! And trying to raise kids in the process😂 Here’s just a few of the things going on around here! I will try and do better as things slow down a bit moving into fall(just kidding, never a dull moment around here)😂🐮😉

Some weeks things run so smoothly and some weeks things just don’t go your way! The latter has been the case around here this week. Our bulk tank that cools and stores our milk for us decided to take a vacation. We spent a lot of hours and and spoke to lots of very knowledgeable folks and were able to finally get it back up and running late last night. It sure pays to have milk customers that repair hvac units for a living and were willing to offer their expertise in our situation!

We were also fortunate to have farm friends at Lee and Lee Farms that helped us get a back up tank! Unfortunately in the process we lost about 60 gallons of milk that we normally would process. With that being said we are going to be very limited this week in our supply! We will have to hold off on production of butter this week for certain. I will start by filling milk orders and with whatever’s left we will provide our value added products as best we can. Please be patient with us as we resume normal production. Our customers are so amazing and we so appreciate the understanding and patience you show us as we get back on track! Hopefully back to normal next week!🐮☀️🐮

This week in a nutshell! We have been blessed with great weather and great friends to help! Wrapping hay for the milk cows and baling dry hay for all the farm animals. It certainly takes a village to get it all done! Grandma and the older kids milked while we wrapped hay until 8:30 last night. Please get us your orders for the holiday weekend so we can make sure to get them ready for you!🐮☀️

This week has been a bit of a challenge for us. We started the week with great intentions to get hay up and borrow a friends bale wrapper and wrap some hay for the cows to eat in the coming months. Well one problem after the other had us feeling quite defeated yesterday morning. Hay was already cut and it’s supposed to rain Saturday. So we reached out to a friend that pointed us in the direction of Williams equipment, llc in Warrenton. What a blessing these folks truly are!! James stopped everything he was working on yesterday to help us get the baler going! His wife showed us around and gave me quite the wishlist of items we would love to have on the farm! If not for their kindness and helpfulness we would not have baled hay today! Thanks to these folks the cows will continue to do their work and produce great milk! Happy Easter from our family to yours☀️🐮
Milked the cows at 5:30 this morning to make it to sunrise service at church but trying to get 7 people out of the house before 6:30 seemed an impossible task! Better late than never they say! It’s hard to see in the picture, because it was cold at 7:30 this morning, but the younger girls are wearing dresses and matching sweaters and purses that one of our amazing customers and now friends made for them! They received so many compliments! When I tell folks we are blessed with amazing customers I truly mean it! We are so grateful and blessed by every one of you! Hope everyone has had a wonderful Easter day!☀️

What a beautiful weekend! We started the weekend with a visit to one of our milk customers. Hannah now wants a horse🙄😂 And we ended the weekend cutting some winter rye for the milk girls to enjoy! I love that our kids can be kids! They can always find a fun game to play! Who doesn’t love hiding in the tall grass! Happy Monday to you all!🐄🐮☀️

Good morning to our awesome customers! Our littlest farmer has been loving this weather and so have these awesome golden girls! They all love to be out in the sunshine! This is our littlest ones favorite cow! Idalia is as sweet as any cow you will ever meet! She loves to be loved on and Hannah is happy to oblige!
