The Yule log tradition is an ancient winter custom rooted in pre-Christian European celebrations of the winter solstice.

Originally, families would bring a large log into their home and burn it in the hearth during the darkest days of the year. The fire symbolized light, warmth, and the return of the sun as days slowly began to grow longer after the solstice. Today, the yule log is also incorporated into Christmas traditions.

The workshop provides the log, fresh evergreens, holly, and mistletoe; cinnamon sticks; oranges; pinecones; and high-quality candles, all with traditional flair. Our 8th annual Frenchtown DIY Holiday Wreath event is back at the King Ranch Golf Course on December 6 from 4-6 pm. In the workshop, you will create your massive 24" wreath using six varieties of locally harvested boughs, plus adding decor. Crescent Ridge Farm and the FFA discovered we had scheduled workshops for the same day (different times). If you can't attend our workshop, please do support theirs. 💕 We would love to have you back if our time slot works best for you.

Celebrate the season with creativity, community, and the fresh scent of Montana evergreens! Join us for one (or both!) of our Holiday Wreath Workshops and create your own beautiful 24” holiday wreath using a variety of sustainably harvested evergreen branches from Western Montana, along with pine cones, berries, ribbons, wire, and a sturdy metal wreath ring. Add your personal touch to make it truly your own!

Guests who bring and use a wreath ring from a previous year will receive a $5 refund at the event.
