Surprising news this morning, our vet was out to do an ultrasound on 4 of our does and only Pine Hurst South Ruby was bred. We were pretty confident of 2 for 4 and hopeful maybe even 3 of 4. Ruby and Two Dogs Farm Cetus produced 2 amazing kids last year and hopefully will again this year.

Pine Hurst South Ruby was bred today from Two Dogs Farm FN Cetus *S. Ruby is AGS registered and Cetus who is known as Cecil on our farm is both AGS and ADGA registered. We have a due date if March 15, 2024. Albia Iowa

After putting The father and son combo of Misty Ponds Clovis and Two Dogs Farm Cetus into our breeding pastures the once close bond was gone. Windy Hill Ranch Dottie was in heat and KBarS O Penny was not and the battle through the fence began as Clovis wanted to get to the other side! Once they both had bloody foreheads I knew it was time to put up a temporary fence to separate them even further. Once done things calmed down Dottie was bred and we have a due date of February 25, 2024. Penny then came into heat over night and was bred this morning so we have a second due date of February 26, 2024. Next pairings will be in about another 2 weeks.

It's that time of year here in Southern Iowa! Once we get through a couple more days of near record heat breeding season will be underway here at Misty Ponds. First up will be the same paring as last year with Two Dogs Farm Cetus *S better known as Cecil who is both ADGA and AGS registered and AGS Windy Hill Ranch Dottie, ADGA The Mt Dottie, better known as Dots. Been working hard on a building and small piece of neighboring property we just aquired that will be used for goat hay storage in the future. Well it's been almost a month since Fiona, Jasper, Mabel and Lottie went to their new home! While it was a sad day to see our first kids leave the farm knowing they were going to an amazing home where they were going to be loved and spoiled as much as they would have been here made it much easier. Here is a picture of day 1 settling in to their new house! 😁
