“You made it.”
“How lucky am I?”
These two statements have been sitting heavy on my heart lately.
Some days are hard. And I know, I know, those aren’t words to throw around lightly. But sometimes life is just REALLY freaking hard.
And somehow, woven into those really hard days are some REALLY beautiful ones.
Today was one of those days. The kind where you look around, take it all in, and think, “How lucky am I?”
The kind where you wish you could go back, wrap your arms around a younger version of yourself, and tell her, “You’re going to be okay. You’re going to make it. Just keep going.”
Because look around. Look at the life you’ve built. The people you love. The things you once prayed for that are now part of your everyday life.
It doesn’t mean you’ve figured it all out. It doesn’t mean the hard days are behind you. Heck, some days you’re just trying to keep your head above water.
But I’m learning that life can be REALLY f**king hard and unbelievably beautiful at the exact same time.
And that’s okay.
It’s okay to wake up not knowing what tomorrow will bring. It’s okay to be tired. It’s okay to have days where you question everything.
But you know what’s not okay?
Forgetting to show up. To try to be better than you were yesterday. To spread kindness, love your people, chase the things that set your soul on fire, and bust your a$$ for the life you believe in.
Because someday, the version of you who’s in the thick of it right now is going to look around and whisper two things.
“You made it.”
“How lucky am I?”
And maybe, just maybe, you don’t have to wait until someday to say them. 🤍
