The world's water is under stress, which creates a burgeoning need for innovative solutions. Due to increasing regulation, lack of infrastructure investment and increased wastewater volumes, treatment costs are rising dramatically. The demand for Zero Liquid Discharge – where there is no wastewater at all – continues to increase at an annual rate of around 25% - a staggering figure that begs for c

ost-effective, scalable solutions. Systems for cleaning volumes of 1 million + gallons per day already exist – quality systems from large companies provide ZLD solutions for very high volume wastewater producers. Lower volume streams on the order of 1 million gallons per year from applications such as metals processing, agricultural, food processing scrubbers, oil and gas produced water and many others currently have no cost-effective solutions. Customers, then, are being charged upward of $.25-$1.00/gallon for industrial streams and $8-$14/barrel for oil and gas wastewater. Slipstream has developed a simple, thermo evaporative ZLD system which extends existing technology to offer an inexpensive, viable, less regulation-burdened solution. Built on a plug and play model, Slipstream's solution offers big results and requires minimal space and support to do so.
