Hey Folks,
While our canned dééh has been out in the world for a bit over a month, we wanted to do something special to celebrate! So as part of our fundraiser series for the new space will be opening in collaboration with our sibling biz Howdy Cakes and Barkadas ABQ, we’ll be having a Dééh Release & Rent Party to officially crack open the new product and to raise some funds to help us build out the new space.

We’ll have music by the talented Jir Anderson (Native Guitars Tour) & Mayiah, small bites by Howdy Cakes, plenty of samples of our canned dééh, and we’ll also be selling our fundraiser gift boxes filled with treats from all three businesses, including blue corn cookies, ube cookies, and mini-prickly pear syrup.

So come on down Sat 6/20 to the NMCC Resilience Hub (119 3rd St SW) Doors at 6pm, tickets are $15 suggested donation but pay what you can and come enjoy some tea, music, and good company

Hey folks,
We’ve got big things on the horizon and we’re asking for y’all to help us make it happen!!

In July, Barkadas ABQ, Howdy Cakes, and Prickly Foods are coming together to make “La Carinderia” a space showcasing Immigrant, Native, & Indigenous foods by creating a unique hub of ready to eat hot foods, pastries, and dry goods to bring both home grown and far away flavors to New Mexico. We’ll be located inside the National Hispanic Cultural Center 1701 4th St, and we’ve got some work to do to make the space feel like home.

This coming month we’re doing a series of fundraising events including an on-going goodies box sale with treats from all of us, a pay-what-you wish release party for Prickly Foods new canned Dééh: Navajo Tea with Prickly Pear evening Sat 6/20, and sit-down 5-course Filipino tasing menu by Barkadas ABQ with music and performances both over at NM Community Capitals Resilience Hub (119 3rd St SW)
So get your tickets and help our new space grow!

Mabuhay!
Howdy!
Hi everyone! Our friends, family, and our community! We have some exciting news!

BarKadas, Prickly Foods, and Howdy Cakes are moving in to the National Hispanic Cultural Center this summer!

We are coming together to form La Carinderia- a multifaceted cafe featuring Barkadas’ delicious and highly acclaimed Filipino food, Howdy Cakes’ award winning Diné and SW inspired treats with occasional savory meals, and Prickly Foods’ incredible refreshing Prickly Pear Based Beverages.

This is such an exciting step toward growth for all of us and we can’t wait to work together to provide our best to everyone with daily walk in service.

We will be hosting series of fundraising events over the next couple months to help us make the cost of startup renovations, so we will be sharing that info soon!

Thank you so much for your encouragement and support from the very beginning- we couldn’t have come this far without it! We’re nervous and extremely excited! We’ll see you this summer from the NHCC!

We’re a small, tight-knit team, with a sense of humor, we’re growing our operation and are looking for someone to help us bring our business to the next level of wholesale and retail sales.

Hey friends,
It’s a BIG weekend for us…not only will we be at the Chocolate and Coffee Festival Sat and Sun…but we’re finally getting to share something we’ve been working on for a long time.

A NEW PRODUCT!!

Our Dééh: Navajo Tea with prickly pear is now available! Brewed from the greenthread plant and lightly sweetened with prickly pear syrup, now in a gorgeous 16 oz can, designed by our friends over at Nahi, and canned still with nitrogen for a smooth, easy sip.
You can now grab one at any of our regular markets, and coming soon to the other places you can find us like all La Montanita Co-op locations, Tiny Grocer, and more.

We’ll be doing a full release party later in the summer…along celebrating some other big news we have coming up so stay tuned.
