Apparently, snickerdoodles are back on the menu next week.

I forgot to turn them off on the ordering site, and someone ordered them. So I guess I'm making snickerdoodles again.

Not that I'm complaining. They're delicious, and my apparently magical oven bakes an entire batch in six minutes.

Soup season has officially started!

Every week, The Unseen Chef will feature a different homemade soup on our weekly menu, available by the quart.

We kicked things off with Red Chile Caldito — tender beef, potatoes, and a rich New Mexico red chile broth.

Next week, we're serving Creamy Green Chile Chicken Soup!

Thanksgiving ordering is now open at The Unseen Chef.

This year there are a few ways to do it:

• Traditional Harvest Feast
• New Mexico Feast
• The Mary LeTard
• Sides, pies, tamales, enchiladas, lasagna, turkey, ham, and prime rib available individually

Complete feasts serve approximately 6.

Pickup is Wednesday, November 25 at The Unseen Chef Studio.

Ordering closes Monday night, November 23.

Tonight’s private dinner at The Unseen Chef:

Mushroom crostini with whipped ricotta

Butter lettuce salad with Granny Smith apple, blue cheese, candied pecans, and maple vinaigrette

Herb-seared New York strip with red w**e onions

Pan-seared halibut

Potato gratin and roasted Brussels sprouts

Roasted acorn squash crème brûlée with mascarpone cream, candied pepitas, blackberry, and meringue. I even remembered to take a picture this time.

Six guests, two entrée choices, and a whole lot of plates moving through somebody else’s kitchen.

This is my favorite kind of cooking: a small group, a menu built specifically for the evening, and dinner prepared and served right in your home.
