Who'd have dreamt there would be such pleasant shops and fine places to eat in a tucked-away village like Alden? No wonder everyone wants to keep it hush-hush. Its the kind of place you want to save and introduce to a good friend-as if it were your own personal discovery. A sleeper? That's part of the allure. The other part is the unusual and varied merchandise you'll findhere. Each shop has its own identity, with almost every one hosted by the owner/or a friend or two. Nestled beside Torch Lake (SAID TO BE THE WORLD'S THIRD MOST Beautiful LAKE.) Nature lovers will also consider Alden a real find. Tucked beneath a canopy of trees, this small town lies on the southeast shore of Torch Lake with its clear, Caribbean- blue waters and breathtaking beauty. Folks will often stop for an ice cream cone and stroll down to the harbor, or walk a little further to the Alden Depot, which has been restored as a museum and day park. A Short Stretch Away-If your up for a hike, a guided tour or some nature study, visit nearby Grass River Nature Area, Skegemog Swamp Pathway or the Coy Mountain Walking Trail. Of course there's always boating, swimming, biking, tennis, golf, snowmobiling and skiing available in the area as well.

Alden Brown Victorian is tucked along a quiet side street in the heart of Alden, just a short walk from Torch Lake and the village marina.
