This breed was historically bred to guard livestock alone in the mountains, especially at night, when predators were most active. That deep, booming bark isn’t “being dramatic” — it’s literally centuries of instinct kicking in. 🐺✨

So when your Great Pyrenees suddenly decides at 2:17 a.m. that the wind, a shadow, or a suspicious leaf deserves a full-volume announcement, they genuinely believe they are protecting the entire household. In their mind, they’re not waking you up… they’re saving you. 🛡️😂
