French Broad River Farms is a family-owned and operated farm located in Alexander, NC, just 20 minutes north of Asheville. We specialize in providing retirement homes for senior animals and sanctuary for domesticated animals and natural wildlife alike. Our farm is home to a variety of animals, including donkeys, goats, chickens, alpacas, honeybees, dogs, and more.

It’s not too late to book your summer mountain vacation!! Enjoy fresh baked focaccia when you arrive and explore the trails on our 50 acre farm during your stay. For those planning on visiting during the last two weeks of August, we also have multiple workshop dates available for booking. Whether you’re local or just visiting the Asheville area, we’ve got some fun activities lined up during the last two weeks of August. Enjoy some wine and nurture your artistic side during a paint n’ sip event August 20-21st, this month’s subject is an expressive sunset view of the Appalachian mountains. If you’re interested in something more slow paced, our candle and goat milk soap making class on August 27th-28th might be for you. Infused with homemade scents and fresh flowers, you’ll leave with products that make you feel relaxed and refreshed. Booking is available through our site!
