Today is a sad day on the farm. These pictures are of Emma. She was a jersey cross that I brought home from a farm I worked for back in 2014. She has been threw a lot. After her first calf and he lived to be about 2 we moved her to my best friends farm we're she had more room to run. Besides her first calf freedom and adopting another one here at my place. She went to have 5 more and adopting another 1. She was a great cow/mother. Growing up farming you don't realize how much these animals mean to you. Even thought you raise them for meat or anything it's still a part of the farmer that raised them. She lived a good life.

I found this scrolling threw Facebook. It is the farm that it all started for me. This picture was in '83 and I was born in '85 but this is the farm I call home. We didn't move on it till about '87-'88 but all my memories are here. It was 1 of the first 10 farms to become a free stall with a parlour. In the '90's threw too 2004 we had around 80 head of cattle milking. Still to this day being in my mind 30's I still click my heels together and say there's no place like the barn. It's sad to see all these little family farms go out and the big one become factories. It's way the world is going but it's no life for a animal. So everyone if you know someone or grew up and have a heritage on it like I did. Thank yourself and thank them for being a part of a lifestyle that builds well rounded individuals. God bless.

This works... we do it a little different to heat our shop... we lay a black painted 4 inch thermal panel on the ground on the cement on our south side and use a cold frame window with a vent into our shop over it.... works great and we can remove it in the summer when it is hot....the trick is you need a thermal break.
