Thank you for the outpouring of love and support today. We had many customers ask where they should get their fish now, and we want to introduce to our friends over at . Lobster Maine-ia is a small family business located in Chantilly, VA but they come to the Old Town Farmers Market every Saturday. They sell all things seafood and everything is fresh. It’s all pre-packed in a variety of sized portions. You can pre-order anything to pick up at the market. Tons of different types or salmon, whitefish, sushi grade fish, shellfish, and more. Check them out!! We also recommend a husband and wife team at the Union market if you feel like making the trip into the city.

A difficult decision has been made and as the week draws to a close, we have decided to close MAS Seafood. We are incredibly grateful for all your support throughout these last 4 years. We are forever thankful to our customers, neighbors and friends for coming along with us on our journey.

We will be open at 9:30am tomorrow morning and will close once our inventory is gone. We understand that this may come as a surprise to everyone, please know that we have enjoyed getting to know each and every one of our customers.

Blue Catfish.
Invasive to the Chesapeake, native to Mississippi and Ohio watersheds. Voracious eaters that outperform or eat any competition. Detrimental to rockfish, blue crab, shad, and other native species. Efforts to remove the fish are in full swing, Gov. Moore of MD even applied for a federal emergency to be instituted to help fund the projects. A great way to help eliminate the invaders from our waters while simultaneously supporting local communities, is to eat them. Adult blue catfish don’t live on the bottom or in holes so there is no “muddy” flavor to them. Instead you get a clean mild fish ready to be served in many ways. 

We decided to recreate one of our favorite lunches from Old Town’s Caphe Banh Mi, a catfish banh mi.
