Seeing Scones for Every Season as an actual book for the first time was a pretty incredible moment.

And now we’re officially ONE MONTH from launch day.

Excited? Absolutely.

A little nervous? Also absolutely.

I wrote a cookbook.

I know I’ve said that before, but it still feels a little crazy every time I say it.

For months, my kitchen has been filled with flour, butter, recipe notes, dirty dishes, photo setups and a whole lot of scones. Then came the writing, editing, photographing and finally handing everything over to my designer.

And now I’m watching it turn into an actual book.

There’s still work happening behind the scenes, but we are getting SO close and I am ridiculously excited for you to finally see it.

SCONE SCHOOL: Keep That Butter Cold

If there’s one thing I’m a stickler about when making scones, it’s cold butter.

Those little pieces of cold butter melt in the oven and create steam, which helps give you those tender, flaky layers you want in a good scone.

If your kitchen is warm or your dough has been sitting out longer than you planned, pop it into the refrigerator for a few minutes before baking.

It’s a small step that can make a big difference.
