Today, our Alexandria shop has moved to Jackson St. and we've opened up two additional stores in Lake Charles and Prairieville. Three generations later and we're still family owned, and are always looking for new ways to stock the very best for the good people of Louisiana. Not only d

This week we're featuring a wholesome lineup of Calumet whiskies with a wide variety of age statements!

This curated whiskey flight showcases the progression of age and character through four expressions of Calumet Farm Bourbon. Each pour highlights how extended barrel aging transforms bourbon over time. Come taste the evolution from the approachable sweetness and lighter oak influence of the younger expressions to the deeper complexity, richer mouthfeel, and bold oak-driven character found in the older releases.

This week for Whiskey Wednesday, we have a couple of old faces along with a couple new arrivals! We open with Maker’s Mark 46 Cask Strength, a bold yet polished expression that balances high proof with a velvety texture. Finished with seared French oak staves, it delivers layers of caramel, vanilla, and baking spice, setting a rich foundation without overwhelming the palate. It’s an introduction to how controlled finishing can amplify complexity while maintaining elegance.

Next is Maker’s Mark Steward’s Release, offering a softer, more nuanced take on the distillery’s signature wheated profile. This expression leans into honeyed sweetness and gentle fruit notes, with a rounded oak presence. It provides a point of comparison—demonstrating how variation in barrel selection and blending can subtly shift the character within the same house style.

The third pour, K**b Creek Blenders’ Edition, marks a transition into a bolder flavor profile. Here, the influence of a higher-rye mashbill becomes evident, bringing forward roasted nut, charred oak, and a more assertive spice. Crafted to highlight the role of the blender, this whiskey emphasizes balance through contrast—sweetness meeting structure.

The flight concludes with K**b Creek 9 Year Single Barrel, a powerful and deeply traditional expression. Drawn from a single barrel, it showcases the unfiltered intensity of extended aging: dense caramel, heavy oak, and a long, dry finish. Each barrel tells its own story, making this final pour both a culmination and a singular experience.
