Floral funk, berry depth, and a bit more acid than a lot of our saisons have been showing of late. Very quenchable but not a push over.
A 2011 dc basement recipe that has stood the tests and tastes of time. A core aspect of Striss is the use of strisselspalt, a land race hop that brings a distinctive currant/berry aspect, that not used deftly, can prove unsettling in english/ Belgian/ lager styles but performs beautifully as an unabashed mixed culture expression.
The fun of a blendery is that every bottling is different, by nature, circumstance, or intent. It becomes a difficult and oddly serious question as to whether a new blend can garner a previous name. Batch 2 is certainly Striss, but I have difficulty expressing how it relates to batch 1. Probably equidistant from its platonic form?
