This little guy has stolen my heart! πŸ’ Wyatt is so loving and trusting. He will be a joy to work with and train. He is definitely smart and attentive, even if he is sassy and a sneaky little nipper.🀣 He will need a firm and consistent hand teaching him what is acceptable and what is not. But, I have faith that he will bloom into a wonderful companion and skillful halter horse.

Are you worried about feeding beet pulp to your horse because you heard it may expand in the horse's stomach and cause colic?

No need to fear. Beet pulp's excellent digestibility actually makes it a useful addition to the diet of many types of horses β€” especially "hard keepers" that need to gain weight, horses with dental problems, convalescing horses, and geriatric horses who have trouble chewing or digesting other types of forage. Because beet pulp is really a fiber supplement, not a grain, you can safely feed as much as you like; just be sure to start with a small quantity and GRADUALLY INCREASE the amount you’re feeding.

Read more about feeding beet pulp on our website at https://aaep.org/horsehealth/feeding-beet-pulp. As always, consult your veterinarian for more information and to determine if beet pulp is a good choice for your horse!

Thanks to Joe Blanchette for this crazy, cool Frizzle rooster! He joined the two hens that I have left from last spring's hatch. It will be fun to see what their babies will look like!πŸ˜ŠπŸ“πŸ£

The biggest focus here at Hiddenbrook Farm is our rabbits. I do have a page just for them (Hiddenbrook Farm Rabbitry), but I will still share some of them here on this page as well. They are the only species that we show. We raise several breeds to fit multiple needs: show, pets, meat and fiber.

Along with Dandy, the peacock, I got 6 eggs to incubate. Unfortunately, only 1 egg hatched. Peacock eggs are notoriously hard to hatch artificially, so I am very grateful for my 1 peachick!πŸ’— I had a few chicken eggs in the incubator, as well and only 1 of those hatched! So, I have a peachick, named "Peep" (named before it even hatched, by my grandson, Gabe) and 1 bantam chick named, "Shorty" (height difference πŸ˜†). They are best buds and keep each other company. I will post a montage of Peep and Shorty growing up, later, but this is them now at 7 weeks old.

This year I managed to make a longtime dream come true, thanks to my sister-in-law, Denise. Hiddenbrook Farm welcomed our first PEACOCK!!! 🦚 His name is Dandelion, but you can just call him Dandy😊. His birthday is September 1st and he will be 2 years old. The males do not grow their full tails, complete with the signature "eye" feathers, until after they are 2! So, hopefully, by next spring he will have his full adult tail! He is still absolutely gorgeous, though.πŸ₯°
