Thank you to all the admin and staff in Allen ISD that helped our teams in some capacity this year as we prepared teams for contest. Career Development Events help our students become Effective Problem Solvers and provide them an opportunity to show that they are Academically Prepared for Future Pursuits.

A special thank you to Southwest Wholesale Nursery in Carrollton for allowing our Nursery Landscape and Floral teams to do a walk through of their plants on Thursday before the state contest.

Good Luck to the remaining two CDE teams competing next weekend.

Students in Agricultural Mechanics and Metal Technology are selling picnic tables built during their introduction to tools and shop safety unit.

Students learned to use a miter saw, circular saw, speed square, try square, tape measure, drill press, hand drill, and orbital sander. They also learned about Safety Data Sheets and taking precautions when applying finishes.

6 of the tables have a teak oil / stain finish. 1 has a rustic white farmhouse stain, 1 has a grey vintage stain.

Tables are $100 each and the funds go directly back to the AG Mechanics students to continue teaching valuable skills to our students.

There are only 8 tables available! Email [email protected] to reserve yours.

Pickup at Allen High School Tuesday/Thursday after 5pm.
