Did You Know? 🐍🍷

There’s actually a fascinating connection between snakes and wine! In parts of East and Southeast Asia, a centuries-old tradition known as Snake Wine involves infusing whole venomous snakes, such as cobras or vipers, in rice wine or grain alcohol. Traditionally, it has been used in Chinese medicine and is believed to promote vitality and wellness.

The alcohol typically neutralizes the snake's venom, making the wine safe to consume. While the practice remains a cultural tradition in some regions, it has also inspired plenty of legends—including stories of snakes surviving inside sealed bottles for months before suddenly awakening when opened!

As we head to the Sinnemahoning Sportsmen's Snake Hunt, we thought we'd share this unique bit of wine history. Stop by and pick up your favorite Angel Walk Winery wines this weekend! 🍷🐍
