Sometimes ranching isn’t easy peasy lemon squeezey. And before someone comes at me for posting a gun, it’s a dart gun. We have a calf that isn’t too fond of being corralled. To Doctor this calf we had to bring out “Ole Trusty and the Darts”.

Some will say that using a dart gun is inhumane (blah, blah, blah), nothing is more inhumane than letting an animal remain sick/hurt because its flight defense overrides “they are trying to help”. We have at least one in every calving season this one is particularly flighty. He will make someone a fine feeder at weaning this fall.
