When Was the Last Time You Had Your Water Pressure Checked?

Your home’s water pressure might seem like a small detail, but too much pressure can cause big problems. That’s why having your water pressure checked at least once a year is an important part of routine home maintenance.

Excessive water pressure can put unnecessary stress on your plumbing system, leading to:

Leaking or damaged pipes
Faucet and fixture problems
Water heater issues
Higher water bills
Costly plumbing repairs

A quick annual pressure check can help identify potential problems before they turn into expensive surprises.

If you live in Alpharetta or the surrounding areas, make water pressure checks part of your annual home maintenance routine.

Kitchen sink backing up again? Here's what's really going on down there.

Kitchen drains clog more than any other drain in the house, and the culprit is almost always the same: FOG — fats, oils, and grease. It goes down the drain as a warm liquid, which feels harmless, then cools and hardens on the pipe walls a few feet in. Layer by layer, that buildup narrows the pipe until water can barely get past it.

The kitchen habits that help most are simple. Don't pour cooking grease, bacon fat, or oil down the drain — let it cool, then scrape it into the trash. Wipe greasy pans with a paper towel before washing. And skip the "hot water and dish soap will flush it through" trick: it softens the grease just long enough to move it farther down the line, where it hardens again somewhere harder to reach.

When a kitchen line is already built up, we clear it with a cable machine right at the sink — like the one pictured — and for lines with years of accumulation, hydrojetting scours the pipe wall to wall instead of just punching a channel through. If a drain keeps backing up after clearing, that's a sign something structural is going on, and a camera inspection will show us exactly what.

Two upgrades, one visit: a new water heater and whole-home water treatment.

When an aging water heater is on its way out, it's the right moment to think about the water running through the rest of your house too — because the crew is already there and the plumbing is already open.

A new tank water heater gets you reliable hot water and a fresh start on the clock, and ours carry a 6-year parts and labor warranty. Pair it with a whole-home 3-stage water treatment system and you're also improving every tap in the house: sediment filtration catches particulates, catalytic carbon removes chlorine and the taste and odor that come with it, and the final stage descales what's left. Removing chlorine is gentler on skin and hair, and it's easier on the rubber seals and gaskets in your fixtures — chlorine dries them out over time, which is what eventually turns them brittle and leaky.

Better Water Starts Here

Our team recently installed a whole home water treatment system with a bypass valve, giving this homeowner cleaner, better-quality water throughout the entire house.

A whole home water treatment system can help:
• Reduce chlorine and other impurities
• Improve the taste and smell of your water
• Help protect plumbing fixtures and appliances
• Reduce mineral buildup
• Provide cleaner water from every faucet

The added bypass valve makes future maintenance and filter changes simple while keeping your home's plumbing system running efficiently.

A Small Leak Can Lead to Big Problems

This leaking angle stop may seem like a minor issue, but even a slow drip can waste water, damage cabinets and flooring, and lead to costly repairs if left unchecked.

Our team quickly replaced the faulty angle stop, restoring a secure, leak-free connection and giving the homeowner peace of mind.

Common signs of a failing angle stop include:
• Water leaking around the valve
• Corrosion or rust
• Difficulty turning the valve on or off
• Dripping under the sink or behind the toilet

Proudly serving Alpharetta, Milton, Roswell, Johns Creek, and Cu***ng.
