One of the coolest things about honeybees is that they are the ultimate cleanup crew.

After we finish extracting honey, there’s always a little honey left behind on the equipment, floors, and surfaces. Instead of spending hours trying to clean up every sticky drop, we simply open the door to the honey house and let the bees do what they do best.

Within a short time, they'll find every last bit of honey and clean it up better than we ever could. Not a drop goes to waste.

It's a pretty amazing reminder that bees are incredibly efficient creatures. Everything they do has a purpose, and they waste nothing. 🐝🍯

Pulled off all the rest of the Honey today….probably a week too late, but we were out of the country for two weeks so we’ll see how much Honey we have left and see how much the bees have started to dig into their own supply now that the nectar flow has finished for the summer.

Once we pull off all the Honey, I will start feeding the bee sugar water because it has been a really dry spring and want to give them some fuel and energy to hopefully replenish some of their stores before the winter.

At our farm every jar of honey is sourced, harvested, extracted, and bottled right here on our property.

We believe honey should stay as close to nature as possible. Most of our honey goes from hive to jar within the same few days or at most within the same week. After extraction, we only minimally strain it to remove excess wax and bee parts, while keeping the natural goodness, flavor, and integrity exactly the way the bees made it.

No over-processing. Absolutely No additives. No shortcuts.

Just simple, raw, farm-to-table honey the way it was meant to be. 🍯🐝

🐝 January in Georgia doing January things… or not.

January 4th and we’ve got 50s and 60s all week here in GA and the bees are active and bringing in pollen.

That’s always exciting to see. It means the queens are laying, the colonies are strong, and nature is already stirring even in the heart of winter.

Warm spells like this are a reminder that beekeeping is all about paying attention. Watching the bees, reading the signs, and being ready to support them when needed.

Here’s to healthy hives, early pollen, and a promising start to the year at 5 Acre Farms. 🌱🐝

🐝✨ Happy New Year 2026 from 5 Acre Farms ✨🐝

As we step into 2026, we’re reminded that the strongest things in life are built quietly, consistently, and with purpose.

The bees don’t rush.
They don’t complain.
They just do the work, day after day, creating something that sustains life itself.

That’s the energy we’re carrying into this year.
Steady hands.
Humble work.
Respect for the process.

Here’s to growth, patience, stewardship of the land, and building something meaningful, one hive, one harvest, one season at a time.

From our farm to your family,
Happy New Year. 🍯🌾
