You can now find Buck’s at the Oak Forest Farmers Market ! We’ll be there today from 4PM – 8PM with plenty of your Buck’s favorites. Stop by, say hi, and shop with us!🍑🫑🥒🧄🍯

The market is right in the 157th Street Metra Parking Lot, so if you’re getting off the train or just looking for a little midweek outing, it’s an easy stop! Spend the afternoon browsing local vendors, supporting small businesses, eating good food, and stocking up🛍️

Another farm pickup means bin #5 of our Michigan peaches, plus a fresh load of Illinois cantaloupe! And don’t let Dave’s serious face fool you… really, he’s just calculating how long he has to wait before cutting into one of those cantaloupes😂🍈

The newer peach harvest has been looking beautiful and is ready for all your peachy plans this weekend!🙌

🥒 FROM THE STAND TO SUPPER 🥒

Today we’re sharing two very special refrigerator pickle recipes from Helen, Buck’s close later-life companion. Helen was well known among family and friends for her homemade pickles, and these recipes come from a treasured church cookbook that was passed from Helen to my grandmother Joanne, Buck’s daughter-in-law, and eventually to me, Molly. We’re so excited to share this little piece of our family history with you!

🌽 MEET THE BUCK’S CREW 🌽

Kylie joined us for her first season at Buck’s this year, and we’re so happy she did! She is always willing to jump in wherever she’s needed, notices what needs to be done, and gets right to it. She brings a kind, friendly personality to every customer interaction, even when she’s sweetly convincing them they may need just one more tomato🍅🤭

Kylie is heading into her senior year at Eastern Illinois University, where she is studying elementary education and hopes to teach 2nd or 3rd grade. This time next year, she’ll be getting ready for her very own classroom, and we know her future students will be lucky to have her! 🍎📚

A fun fact about Kylie is that she has always had a huge soft spot for animals. As a child, she raised money for local animal shelters by running neighborhood lemonade stands, and to this day she volunteers at a shelter in her college town. Her family also recently rescued a kitten found in their garage, and Kylie is helping her become more comfortable around people! 🐾

Kylie says her favorite part of working at Buck’s is meeting so many interesting people in our community and hearing stories from customers who have been visiting the stand for years. She says those stories make working for a small family business feel even more special, and we couldn’t agree more😊

Her favorite Buck’s produce? Our sweet Michigan peaches and juicy plums! 🍑
