Have you tried lamb? Many Americans have not, so don’t feel bad! It is a fantastic, delicious, healthy choice of meat. We raise them on grass only, and get them nice and fat! That is where the flavor is at! We also have them processed at a young age. Usually between six and nine months. That ensures the best taste that you can achieve! Contact us to find out about purchasing a hole or half lamb!

Haven’t had a chance to do a post about our new herd sire. He is #561. Originally from Voss land in Cattle company. Broadway, dynamite, and Brutus all in his family tree. We are excited to have him join the MAD cows.

The state showed up at Joel Salatin's farm and told him selling chickens to his own neighbors was illegal. He was stunned. "I'm a voluntary farmer. They're a voluntary buyer. We're neighbors. What do you mean? We can't butcher a chicken here and sell it to them?" Their

*****UPDATE*****

There isn’t a whole lot to update at the moment. We are having to hire an attorney for our pre-hearing conference coming up on the 12th. 

We are definitely learning a lot from this experience. We are learning who cares, and who does not care. Who is willing to help, and who is not willing to help. It is a bit of an emotional roller coaster as we go through this.

CEASE AND DESIST!!

MAD Farms is under fire!
As many of you know, MAD farms is under Fire from bureaucrats at the Kansas Department of Agriculture. Simply put, they are attempting to bully us into following regulations that do not apply to our operation. We follow all pertinent regulations regarding our operation. We have always held ourselves to a higher standard! We are not going to be bullied. We are fighting back through the legal system.
What does this mean? We can not sell chicken at the farmers market at this time. We are very confident in our case, and plan to be back soon!

In the meantime, the farm store is open!  Call text or email us with any questions!
