Congratulations to our friends Allison and Michael and the team they’ve built at Southern Illinois Vacation Rentals! I’m not surprised as they do such a wonderful job managing 🍑 The Cottage at Rendleman Orchards. SIVR brings a lot of Tourism to Southern Illinois and we are so happy for them!

New favorite spot unlocked. 🍑*

These high-top Adirondack chairs were originally added with our senior guests and visitors with limited mobility in mind. But….after sitting in them, we may need a few more!

They’re the perfect height, incredibly comfortable, and just right for enjoying a peach smoothie and a good conversation on the porch. 🙂
🍑*Peach smoothies available starting Friday as soon as we have more ripe peaches ready!

💥 PSA: Utility Grade, 2nd’s, #2 produce 📢

Something for everyone to think about with grocery prices the way they are.
>>>> go straight to the farmers! 🍑🫐🍅🥒🌽

Most farms sell a Utility Grade. Some call it 2nds, or #2’s. Every piece of produce can’t be perfect.
Rendleman Orchards sells #2’s in quantity ~ by the bushel. Farms typically sell Utility Grade up to 50% off.
🍑 Perfectly good
🍑 Perfectly delicious
🍑 Just as nutritious
Usually misshapen, has a blemish or a dimple in it. (See photo).

Fun fact: We sell the majority of our #2’s to canneries, restaurants, Amish and Mennonite communities by the pallet, truck and trailer load.

We also sell #2’s through our Farm Market daily… just ask.

💰 Buying directly from local farms and asking for utility-grade produce can be one of the best ways to stretch your food budget while still feeding your family fresh, nutritious food.

🌸🍯 Did you know Apple Blossom Honey can only be produced during the brief spring bloom of apple trees, often just 1–2 weeks each year?

The bees work among thousands of apple blossoms in the orchards each spring, creating a honey that’s light, delicate, and subtly fruity. Every jar is a sweet reminder that apple season begins long before the fruit appears on the trees.

This is one of our favorite farm products because it tells the story of the orchard in its purest form.

🍯 Limited harvest
🐝 Produced from our orchard pollinators
🍎 Made right here on our family farm in Alto Pass, Illinois

Now available in our Farm Market & online.

Something we thought was great about being part of a national TV show, was how many other Southern Illinois businesses the Mediastash production crew was able to experience while they were here.

With 4 days of filming at Rendleman Orchards, some of the production crew stayed at Cave Creek Cabins and others on the grounds of Alto Vineyards at Betty’s Vineyard House.

One afternoon the crew enjoyed lunch from Faye, and another afternoon they enjoyed lunch from 17th Street Barbecue, both in nearby Murphysboro, Illinois.

On the last day of filming, each episode shows the family having dinner together on the farm. We asked if we could have our dinner at Havisham Bourbon, Brew & Spirits in Alto Pass, Illinois. They have a wonderful local farm-to-glass program and offer a couple of delicious peach cocktails this time of year. They also made the most amazing farm-to-table dinner for us utilizing our peaches in every course as well as our honey and applewurst meat.

Thanks to Ragan and Massey’s Farms of America for what you do to show all the different types of agriculture across America and the farm family’s and team members’ passion behind it all. 🇺🇸🍑
