Some fun eggs facts
1. When young chickens begin laying they will often lay smaller eggs. I grew up calling these pullet eggs. The two eggs on the right are pullet eggs. Btw, a young hen is called a pullet.
2. The egg in the middle is a typical chicken egg.
3. The next egg is a duck egg. Different breeds of ducks will lay different sizes and colors of eggs. I have some ducks that will lay a blue egg.
4. The egg on the far left is a goose egg. Eggs of both geese and ducks are delicious and perfectly fine for human consumption. Their yolk are larger in proportion to their whits and the whites are clearer than a chicken egg.
5. Final fun fact, and this is the best. My dad once raided a wild bird nest and fried the egg for me to eat. ❤️.
