We need your help.

You may not know this farm or the family behind it but we do and we want to do everything we can to help them.

Kiley and Josh of Earnest Roots Farm recently lost their beloved family milk cow, Clora, in one of the worst ways possible: hardware disease.

We know this kind of loss all too well. We lost a pig to the same thing just a week before processing last year. Losing an animal that sustains not only your family but your business is one of the most heartbreaking things that can happen in this life of stewardship. It’s a setback you’re never fully prepared for yet somehow, that day still comes.

They’ve started a T-shirt fundraiser called “Faithful” to help with the purchase of a new milk cow but they need help. They are only 12 shirts away from meeting their goal, with just 5 days left before the entire order is canceled due to printing requirements.

So here’s what we’re asking…

Can you find it in your heart to help a family who has chosen a life of providing for their community?

Can you help them the way so many of you helped us?

Can you help someone you may not even know?

Maybe that’s what faith is.
And if it’s not, maybe it should be.

Did someone say SOURDOUGH??? 🥖

Just 28 days ago, we kicked off a wild, natural fermentation from flour and water.

Today…we’ve got a beautifully golden, crackling sourdough loaf to show for it ✨👩‍🍳

The “mother starter” is our original batch that we will feed and care for. This is what we use little bits of to bake all the sourdough goodness.💪🏼

Now it’s time we give our starter a name!

We get a kick out of “Angelina Dough-lina” 🤣

There’s something sacred about raising your own food 💭

This week, we filled our freezer with pork from a pig we raised right here on our land. He was well-fed, well-loved, and always got a fresh egg for breakfast. 🍳

This isn’t just about filling a freezer though. It’s also about reclaiming responsibility for what we eat, how we live, and most importantly the values we pass down to our children. It’s about stepping out of a broken system that hides the cost of convenience and choosing instead to do the hard things and to be part of something deeper than convenience.

We will waste nothing from this big boy and we give our deepest thanks to him. We are so thankful for the experience and the lessons that came with it.

Shop local. Get to know your farmers. Find pasture raised products. Get back to the land.

✨ Meet the newest member of Duff Farms✨

💙 Rowan Marlin Duff 💙

Born just one day after the spring equinox, Rowan arrived right on time to usher in a season of new beginnings for our family and our farm.

We’re completely in love with this little guy and already dreaming about all the ways he’ll grow up alongside the rhythms of the homesteading life.

From baby snuggles to farm chores, we’re so grateful to share this chapter with you! Whether you’ve been following us for a while or you’re just joining our journey, we’re back at it and ready for the next big adventure!

Here’s to life, love, family and fresh starts ✨🌱

Introducing our newest adventure..pastured pork! 🐽

In January, we purchased two feeder pigs from a local pig farmer for our own personal freezer stash and, as of next week, we will be picking up one of these guys from our local processor! 🥓

For the past six months, these hardworking pigs have been our partners in land management. We moved them daily through the woodline, where they rooted up invasive plants, tilled the soil, and helped expose stubborn root systems—all while uncovering hidden gems like native blackberry bushes. Thanks for the help, pigs!

This adventure brought plenty of wins but also its share of challenges. We faced escape attempts, injuries, and even the heartbreak of losing one of the pigs without any clear answers to why. And that is the unfiltered reality of raising your own food. Still, we wouldn’t trade it for anything!

All in all, this was a great experience for us and we can’t wait to revisit pastured pork for the next freezer fill up! 👍🐷🥓

🎊✨Happy 2025 friends! ✨🎊

It’s been a while for these two first time farmers but we are back at it whipping up yummy bakes, tending to our pasture raised chickens and of course, growing the most fresh and diverse local veggies you could ask for!

A few big announcements:🥁

✅WE HAVE MOVED THE FARM! We are now operating Duff Farms from the comfort of our own piece of land in Northeast Alabama📍

✅We are opening an on-farm, self-serve farmstand! Simply drive by and pick up fresh free range chicken eggs, homemade cottage bakes, plus more! COMING SOON!

✅We have a few new and permanent additions to Duff Farms that we will be introducing soon…stay tuned! 🐷

We wanted to sincerely thank all of our wonderful customers and fellow vendors/business owners where we began our farm in Eufaula, Alabama. Not only for supporting the farm in more ways than one but also accepting us into the community with open arms. We are sad to leave a community that values fresh ingredients and their local farmers but we are excited for this season of change to further our dream and enhance our growing farm.
