We offer a green, environmentally friendly alternative to the use of fossil fuels and herbicides that contribute pollution to our environment. We are dedicated to caring for our community, environment, and the goats, of course! For municipalities, communities, individuals, and companies striving to be green, finally a tool is available that has no negative impact on your community and leaves a min

iscule carbon footprint. What could be more natural than placing goats in an area and letting them do what they do best, consuming vegetation with their only “emissions” being natural fertilizers? Once the goat's meal has been processed by all four stomach chambers, the plant matter is broken down to such an extent that, even if left behind as fertilizer, the plant is unlikely to grow back. It is easy to see that our roadsides, open fields, woodlands and backyards are becoming overrun with invasive species and other unwanted vegetation. Grazing goats can help with fire defense in areas where machines often can't be used. Human hands are obviously labor intensive, and herbicides are dangerous to our waterways, soil, and desired vegetation … not to mention animals and humans. If left unchecked, invasive plants take over our woodlands, strangling valuable trees and threatening important diversity. Open grasslands and neighborhood backyards become overrun, creating a loss of productivity, habitat for birds and other wildlife, and our enjoyment of outdoor space. Carey's Eco Goats also uses “target grazing” to control invasive species like yellow star thistle, for example. Star thistle is highly toxic to horses; cattle will graze it in the rosette to bolting stage but will avoid the w**d beyond the late bud stage, making two or three treatments per year necessary if only grazed in that early stage. Goats will graze yellow star thistle in all growth stages. Grazing during or after flowering with goats may require only one treatment per year, which saves money, prevents reseeding, and thus eliminates the species with just a few treatments. Carey's Eco Goats' mission is to provide you with the best sustainable means of land enhancement that is environmentally sound, fast, easy, and effective. Questions are welcome and estimates are always free. Have a Goat of a Day!

Carey's Eco Goats
Land Enhancement Service
Why Goats?
* Goats love to eat, and they do so 8-12 hours a day.
* Goats are browsers by nature and prefer a wide variety of plants.
* Goats are quiet and won't disturb your neighbors.
* Goats don't burn fossil fuels, and their only emissions are natural fertilizers.
* Goat droppings become great fertilizer, so this parting gift is yours to keep!
* Goats are non-toxic and pose no threat to the water supply.
* Unlike other animals, goats eat plants from the top down, so w**d seeds aren't spread around and left to germinate.
* Goats have special enzymes in their guts that allow them to eat plants that are poisonous to other animals.
* Goats are cost effective in many situations, such as overgrown vegetation on steep banks and uneven terrain, eliminating costly accidents to employees.
* Goats provide an environmentally-friendly solution to vegetation management and are nutrient recyclers.
* Utilizing goats eliminates the high cost of worker's compensation insurance and other labor concerns.
* Goats are just fun to watch!
