Morgan and Morgan Polled Hereford Farms

Morgan and Morgan Polled Hereford Farms Welcome to Morgan and Morgan Polled Hereford Farms, established in 1952 when Robert Morgan bought his first Polled Hereford. We love visitors!

As the herd grew, Robert and his wife Linda expanded to the current location in Alvaton, Kentucky. The tradition continues with Shannon and Kerry Morgan, and their children, and the fourth generation of Morgans to breed Polled Herefords, Emily, Will Thomas & Ellie. Our herd roots trace back to Victor Domino genetics. Past sires of influence include Vindicator, Boomer, F243, Boomer P606, Boomer 46B

, 125Y, M&M F243 Victor 316, and M&M Boomer M158. We offer an exceptional herd for sale. We also have prime beef available in quarter, halves and whole - please contact us for pricing and to make a reservation. Stop by, visit the farm, meet the family and view the herd. We would love to give you a tour!

This fall we were devastated by the loss of Big Red, following an injury.

Big Red came to us from Candy Meadow Farm, where Heath Helms appropriately nicknamed him. Big Red was the last bull Grandaddy selected and purchased at auction.

Big Red was like a family member. Simply yelling his name would instinctively prompt a slow turn of his head. Countless youngsters visiting our farm- some of whom had never been around a bull- overcame their fear and intimidation, eventually petted Red, and left amazed at how such an intimidating and stately figure as Red could be so good natured.

On more than one occassion, a passer by on the Scottsville Road stopped, having eyed Big Red in the field along the roadside, wanting to buy a young bull like Big Red.

His sons and daughters were sold to herds all across Kentucky, and throughout multiple states. Big Red’s daughters continue his legacy in our pastures now, with consistent and uniform udders, moderate frame and many with Red’s distinctive eye pigmentation.

We are blessed with the positive influence Big Red had not only on our herd, but with all who interacted with him.

We are grateful for the help of Dr. Cris Young, Drs. Thomas & England, and Eli Dotson with Dotson Farms. Your help was much appreciated.
