If you spend time near a wetland you know that flowering wetland plants are supporting zillions of pollinating insects. That's why we are happy to highlight that connection at the Monarch Madness Pollinator Festival. Come see Megan, Rafferty, and a booth full of our plants again this year at Moody Gardens in Galveston. Look for the big white tent!

Open Farm days are starting up for fall on one Saturday a month. Stop in this Saturday Sept 19 to see the plants, walk the land, and take home native plants for your pond, rain garden, bog filter, or wetland restoration project.

The plants in the photo are pink-blooming Marsh fleabane (Pluchea odorata) and fine-leaved Gulf dune paspalum (Paspalum monostachyum), both tolerant of a little salt and wet soil.

There we are, loaded with tubs and waders, ready to collect White waterlilies at Galveston Bay Foundation property on Chocolate Bayou. What are Chasity and Margaret pointing at? An alligator nest. We never see the mama but we see the muddy slides where she slips in and out of the pond. From these, we think she must be kinda wide. Respectfully we postpone collecting here til the fall. Instead of plants, we take photos.
