I can’t tell you how many times someone has said to me, “I don’t know how you do it all!” or “You must never stop!”
And I get it. From the outside looking in, our life probably looks like one big, never ending to do list.
Between the farm, multiple businesses, raising two boys, and everything else we have going on, there’s definitely plenty to keep us occupied.
But here’s something that might surprise people: I’m actually pretty intentional about NOT being busy all the time.
I make time to slow down. I make time to do things I enjoy. And I’m not afraid to leave something on the to do list until tomorrow.
I’ve learned that just because there’s always something that could be done doesn’t mean I need to be the one doing it right now.
Especially when you own a business, the work will never truly be finished. There will always be another project, another idea, another opportunity, or another problem that needs solving.
If you wait until everything is done to enjoy your life, you might be waiting forever.
I love being productive. I love building businesses. I love having goals and working toward them.
But I also really love having the freedom to decide when I’m going to slow down.
To me, success isn’t about how much you can squeeze into a day. It’s about building a life where you actually have time to enjoy what you’ve worked so hard for.
And I think that’s something worth protecting.
