Happy World Honey Bee Day! 🐝🍯

Today we’re celebrating the tiny workers behind every jar of honey β€” and so much more!

Our bees spend their days flying flower to flower, pollinating the plants around us and bringing a little sweetness back to the hive. It’s pretty incredible what these little ladies can accomplish. πŸ’›

So today, give a little extra love to the honey bees! Plant something they’ll enjoy, skip the pesticides when you can, buy honey from a local beekeeper, or simply stop and watch them work the next time you see one buzzing around a flower. 🌼🐝

Happy World Honey Bee Day from all of us at Coplin Bee Farms!

🐝 What Happens Inside a Beehive?

A beehive is like a tiny city with thousands of bees all working together. 🐝🏑

Inside the hive:
πŸ‘‘ The queen lays eggs
πŸš‘ Nurse bees care for baby bees and feed developing larvae
🐝 Worker bees clean, build comb, protect the hive, and gather nectar
πŸ’› Drones help with reproduction

Every bee has a job, and teamwork keeps the colony thriving. Honey bees are incredible little insects with a BIG system behind them. 🍯

🌻 Why Bees Love Warm Sunny Days

Ever notice bees seem extra busy on warm sunny days? β˜€οΈπŸ

Honey bees thrive when conditions are:
β˜€οΈ Warm
🌼 Dry
🌿 Blooming

Rainy or windy weather keeps bees inside the hive and limits nectar collection.

That’s why good weather during nectar flows β€” like East Texas tallow season β€” is so important for honey production. 🍯

When the sun comes out, the bees get to work! πŸ’›

Ever wonder what β€œraw & unfiltered” honey means? 🐝🍯

Raw honey is honey that has not been heavily processed or overheated.

Unfiltered honey means it still contains tiny natural particles like pollen, propolis, and bits of wax.

That helps preserve:
🍯 Natural flavor
🌼 Local pollen
πŸ’› Natural goodness

Because raw honey is less processed, you may notice crystallization over time β€” and that’s completely natural!

Real honey does what nature intended. 🐝

🌳 What Is the East Texas Tallow Tree?

One of the biggest nectar sources for bees in East Texas is the tallow tree. 🌳🐝

When tallow trees bloom, bees work hard collecting nectar that helps produce a large portion of local honey crops in our region. 🍯

Tallow honey is often:
🍯 Smooth and mild
🌼 Delicately sweet

Weather plays a HUGE role during tallow season. Too much rain can wash nectar from blooms and keep bees from foraging.

Around here, beekeepers keep a close eye on the tallow flow every spring! 🐝
