We’re here at the first Downtown Cedar Rapids Farmers Market today until noon! New products with us this year are Tri-Tip, Picanha, Sirloin Tip Steaks, Arm Roast , Rump Roast and Chuck Roast. We are located at the same spot as last year, 3rd Street and 4th Avenue. We hope to see you out!

The last couple years we have used rye as a cover crop. The rye is seeded in the fall after the previous years crop has been harvested. The rye helps with many things including w**d prevention and control, moisture retention, soil erosion and increases the organic matter and biological activity within the soil. The rye here has been killed in order for soybeans to be planted directly into it. Other fields of the rye cover crop will be chopped as a feed stuff and utilized in rations for the feedlot as well as the cow calf herd throughout the fall and winter months.
