Summing up life this morning...
Husband being ridiculous and making me laugh, the youngest is getting dirt on her skirt crawling under a gate, the oldest is arguing about kenneling/feeding the dogs, husband’s clean jeans were used as a towel to clean calf slober off youngest’s hands, late to church, and what is in my eye?
Happy Sunday, from our dysfunctional crew to yours ❤️

Y’all need to know....I absolutely despise bottle calves.
Look at that face y’all. Those big ‘ole eyes, those long lashes, and that heart melting bawl! Almost makes you forget that he’s an emotional and financial terrorist!!
So many mixed feelings 😅🤷🏻‍♀️

Hatch green chile sausage links, summer sausage, and freshly made goat cheese.... Simplicity for the win!

I don’t refrigerate my eggs, I don’t wash them until I use them, and they’ve been known to hang around the house for a while before getting used. My customers only receive eggs laid within a two week time frame to ensure freshness and older eggs I usually give out or keep to use personally...
Fresh eggs last so long and keep so well, that I personally don’t worry about spoiling. They’ll have to be around a long while for that!
We had stashed some eggs in the refrigerator because they weren’t going to be sold right away and then I forgot about them...
So, I thought I’d give them a float test....here I included some great visuals from Fresh Eggs Daily and lastly my mystery dated eggs from the bottom of fridge.
Can your store bought eggs do that?
I promise they’ve been around AT LEAST a month....maybe two. Which can be kind of guessed by this demonstration and these eggs are still plenty good to eat!
Friends don’t let friends eat floating eggs 🥚

Our (almost) natural died eggs! There was a learning curve here....
1. Wash the bloom from your fresh eggs. A little into this experiment I realized the bloom was becoming gummy and peeling off, along with the color.
2. Greens would not tint my already tinted eggs, we added two drops of food coloring to each jar.
3. Turmeric and onion skins/shallot combo made the most beautiful colors!
4. Cabbage didn’t do much, except for the jars where it was added with blueberries.

Overall, pretty pleased. You have to admire the orange and deep red eggs, truly my favorite of all of them.

Well folks, it’s that time again, Micro PSA.
As temperatures start to rise, the chances of an egg spoiling increase.
While we do our best to collect eggs on a regular schedule during warm months and candle to make sure you don’t get a developing egg....
It is wisest to crack fresh eggs in their own separate dish before adding to recipes or into a pan, just to avoid a stink or ruin your meal!

Keep eggs in a cool dry place and refrigerate any eggs that have been washed!

Have a great week peeps 🐥🐣
