We were excited to welcome members from the Danone RenGenAg team out to Benton Group Dairies for a visit! During their time here, we shared a look at our new soybean roasting facility, a big step forward for our farm.

Through partnerships with several local farms, we’re now growing and roasting soybeans right here in our community—and feeding them directly to our cows. The best part? The cows love them! 🐄💙

We’re proud to keep investing in local agriculture, innovation, and high-quality nutrition for our herd. Thanks to Danone for taking the time to visit and see what we’re building together.

❄️ Keeping Our Cows Cozy This Winter ❄️

We saw our first snow of the season this week, and while the temperatures dipped, our cows are staying comfortable! 🐄

At Benton Group Dairies, our barns are designed to protect cows from the elements while keeping fresh air flowing. When it gets chilly, we lower the retractable curtains on the sides of our barns to block wind and snow.

Cows naturally run warmer than humans — their body temperature is about 101°F — and they produce plenty of heat while digesting feed and making milk. In fact, our cows produce close to 100 pounds of milk per day, and that metabolic work keeps the barn cozy enough most days of the year!

We also make sure to increase their feed during cold spells so they have the energy they need to stay warm and maintain healthy milk production.

Happy, comfortable cows are the heart of what we do — in every season. 💙🐮

Last week, we had an udderly amazing time at the Warren County Truck or Treat hosted by Purdue Extension Warren County! It was such a joy to connect with friends, families, and our wonderful community.

We loved seeing all the cool kids in their incredible costumes—and sharing yogurt and other tasty treats made it even sweeter!🍦

Harvest is still rolling, but so are we—right behind the choppers with our cover crop planter, laying the groundwork for healthier soil and a more resilient farm system. 💪🏼

These acres, freshly harvested for corn silage, are now being seeded with cover crops. It’s part of our commitment to regenerative agriculture: rebuilding soil integrity, reducing erosion, and capturing carbon where it belongs—beneath our boots, not in the atmosphere. ⛅️

Cover crops aren’t just a placeholder. They’re a powerful tool for restoring balance to the land. Think of them like a recharge cycle for the soil—pulling nutrients back in, protecting against the elements, and setting the stage for next season’s success. 🌱
