Looking for a kitten? Our kittens will be available for adoption soon, but it’s not too early to start the application process! Not only do we have 4 kittens, we also have 6 adult cats looking for homes as well. FUN FACT… black cats/dogs spend more time in shelters than other colored animals and I have EIGHT. One of which has spent over 7 months here. Help us get them adopted!

This rescue is important to me and to our community. Think about how many future litters we can prevent now by pulling FIVE intact cats off the the street with just one rescue. We are only $250 away from being able to rescue these cats.

Other ways you can help facilitate this rescue- contact us about becoming a foster. Space is the second biggest battle next to funding. We have 4 adult cats ready to go into foster homes OR if you have a heart for kittens- these cuties would sure fill that kitten fix!

The hard reality of this job is having to tell a lot of people “I’m at capacity” after they’ve been told the same thing by 5 other rescues. But sometimes a situation stops you in your tracks and you feel like there must be something more you can do.

I received a call this morning from a sweet older gentleman. The desperation was apparent. His neighbor’s cat kept getting pregnant and having litters, so instead of getting her fixed, he threw her and her kittens out the door… the cycle only continues. The man who called has been trying to feed them and care for them, but he’s disabled and financially struggling to continue caring for them. He’s nervous of animal control being called and not knowing the fate of these cats.

Something in me decided I needed to do everything I could to try and save this mama and her babies. The hard truth- we’ve hardly recovered our vet fund after Trixi and we’ve been scraping by financially ever since. We are fortunate enough to receive donations to keep our current animals healthy and well cared for, but it’s always tough accepting new animals when the funds are low.

Not only do we have the chance to help this mama and her babies, we also have the chance to help this kind man who stepped up even when he couldn’t. I want to be more like him and accept the challenge even when the path ahead is not entirely clear.

Guys, you’ll want to sit down for this because we have the absolute best. news. ever. CHEDDAR WAS ADOPTED 🎉🥳 After waiting over 7 months for a home, the sweetest woman opened her home and heart to our spunky senior gal. These two are a match made in heaven and we are LITERALLY jumping for joy over here. This adoption is why we do what we do 💜💜

Bernie and Benny have taught me quite a bit about how physically and emotionally intelligent pigs are. They’ve also shown me compassion and distinct personality. Bernie has VERY selective hearing, but he sure can hold a conversation (turn your volume on for the last video). He gives the best wiggle for the scratchies that hit just the right spot, and he’ll show you just how fast a 700lb piggy can move when treats are involved. Benny is an absolute attention hog who will come running the instant he knows you’re around. He’ll flop down and soak up every second of attention he can get. He plows through every bowl of clean water and drinks straight from the hose (probably because he dirtied all his water in 0.2 seconds), and lives to pick on Chimi, our barn cat. I’ve read about the intelligence of pigs and the connections they can make, but forming a trust and bond with these two is something I’ve been very blessed to experience and something that can’t be easily described. It is worth constantly getting covered in mud and muddy nose prints because there’s nothing quite like the joy of being best friends with a piggy.

These three girls have been with us for over SIX months now and desperately want to find their forever home. #1 Pluto- 1 year old female. Very shy, needs a quiet patient home, #2 Star- 2 year old female. Very playful, extremely friendly, chunky monkey. #3 Cheddar - senior lady, super sweet and cuddly, very easy going and easy to love. It always breaks my heart when cats are overlooked and spend too long between homes. These kitties deserve a family of their own. Our vet bills are starting to add up over here and we could really use all the help we can get replenishing those funds.

Benny, our newest piggy, is needing re-treatments for his eyes, our bonded cat pair, Star and Pluto, are battling an upper respiratory illness, Cheddar, our senior kitty, is developing growths in her ears and is needing to go back to the vet for a recheck, and we just welcomed a new kitty, Reaper, who is going to get fixed and fully vetted tomorrow.

The vet bills are never ending and all our animals like to scheme and need vet attention all at the same time! Any help is appreciated as it is always the generosity of our supporters that keep us going and able to provide the highest level of vet care for our rescues.

We are working on a HUGE fencing undertaking. After receiving a very generous donation to replace ALL our fencing, we are slowly chugging away at getting that installed. We are incredibly grateful to our donors who made this possible.
