We will have veggie taxi services each Tuesday evening 🥳 Veggies will be dropped off in Strong City. Drop off time will be early 7:00s Veggies will arrive in a box that must be returned each week to the farm. So please bring a bag or something to transfer your veggies into. Friends of Shepherd’s Valley,

Spring has sprung! It’s time to reserve your Spring CSA shares from Shepherd’s Valley.

You can look forward to a wide array of leafy greens, including several varieties of lettuce, arugula, spinach, radishes, pac choy, onions, asparagus, rhubarb, green garlic, baby chard, kale, herbs, and more! It’s a veritable salad bar of garden-fresh greens every week!

Because of the late snow, cold, and rain, our planting times for several crops have been pushed back, so our spring shares will be only 6 weeks in length this year (not the usual 7 weeks) and will run from late April through the end of May.

Chase county Spring CSA shares will begin on April 21st, so mark your calendar!

Emporia area Spring CSA shares will begin on April 26th, so mark your calendar!

The price for 2022 Spring CSA shares is $275.00 plus tax = $298.38 total

With surging food, fertilizer, and fuel prices already occurring and food shortages expected, it is the right time to be connected to a local grower you can trust for your family’s food needs.

Summer and fall CSA shares will be priced as we get closer to the start-up of each season. We expect prices to be higher than last year due to our increasing input costs.

We have a special egg sale open to everyone in the Emporia area. You can buy one dozen at the regular price, get one dozen free for a limited time. You can order up to 4 dozen and get 4 dozen free eggs. This is a great special to share with friends! And just in time for baking projects! We also have stewing hens at $15 each plus tax and honey at the regular price.

Emporia Area Friends of Shepherd’s Valley,

We are getting lots of pullet eggs right now. Pullet eggs are small in size but big on nutrition. They are laid by our youngest hens as they begin their first laying cycle.

We are offering our customers a special this week: Buy one dozen large eggs at the regular price of $6.00 each and get one FREE dozen pullet eggs.

There is a limit of 6 dozen total [3 dozen regular eggs + 3 dozen pullet eggs].

We still have a surplus of farm fresh eggs (pasture raised and organically fed) and so we are again offering our Buy One Get One Free special sale. You can order up to 6 dozen (Buy 3 dozen/get 3 dozen free) for delivery into Emporia on Tuesday at 6:30 p.m. We need to have your orders by 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, April 6th. Please bring full payment when you come for pickup at 6:30 p.m.
