One of the questions we hear often is, “Can we book the Americus Street Trolley?”

The answer is yes! The Americus Street Trolley is available for weddings and other special events throughout Sumter County, making it a charming way to transport your wedding party or guests while adding a memorable touch to your celebration.

If you’re hoping to include the trolley in your wedding plans, their biggest tip is to start the reservation process early. Because availability is limited, it’s always best to begin the process well in advance of your wedding date.

To get started, contact the Americus Welcome Center at (229) 928-6059 or stop by 101 W. Lamar Street in downtown Americus. They’ll help you begin the reservation process, check availability for your date, and answer any questions you may have. Be sure to ask for Steve!

Today, we celebrate the 250th anniversary of the United States of America.

For two and a half centuries, every generation, from every walk of life, has helped shape our nation’s story. Through courage and sacrifice, hard work and service, hope and perseverance, ordinary people have accomplished extraordinary things and left a legacy for those who followed.

As fireworks light the sky tonight and communities gather to celebrate, we are grateful for those who came before us, proud of those who continue to serve our nation and strengthen our communities, and hopeful for the generations who will write the chapters yet to come.
