Kuhl Family Farms

Kuhl Family Farms A Western Wisconsin Family raising what they love for generations. Farming is not a job, it is a lifestyle. Life is better on the farm!

Whether you choose to do it part-time or full-time; raising crops or raising livestock...farming is a way of life. The opportunity to watch seeds you placed in the ground only months before yield a harvest that fills your bins...to holding a new born lamb in your arms and hear that first BAA...there is nothing better! As a farmer, I want farmland to stay in farming and family farms to stay in families.

2023 harvest is complete! It may not have been the easiest season, however with no injuries or major breakdowns it was a successful one.

This week is National Farm Safety and Health Week and today's focus is on Youth! This has been a busy summer of attending shows and hosting Progressive Agriculture Safety Days which provide safety education to rural children. However, children are still being injured and killed in agriculture related incidents, and many of those children are not working on the farm when the incident occurs.

Please consider joining us in coordinating Progressive Agriculture Safety Days (https://www.progressiveag.org/GetInvolved.cgi) or by financially supporting the cause on our Day of Giving (https://www.progressiveag.org/Donate).

Stay safe out there!

With a music career spanning more than 3 decades and his high-energy performances leading to multiple awards including the Country Music Association’s prestigious Entertainer of the Year, Garth Brooks seems invincible. However, a recent farm incident involving a chop saw stopped him in his tracks. Thank goodness Garth will be just fine, but this serves as a great reminder that with active equipment (both large and small) the farm can be a very dangerous place, especially during busy times like fall harvest and spring planting. Incidents, like this, can occur when you least expect it, even with tasks you may have completed countless times before. Progressive Agriculture Safety Days wishes Garth a speedy and full recovery and reminds all of us to use caution, take your time and avoid shortcuts, and always wear your PPE. During this month of Thanksgiving, remember, “many are thankful to have YOU, so express your gratitude in practicing safety in all you DO!” Read more about this story at https://on.today.com/3oTIqhP

Next time you decide to criticize corn syrup, please take a minute and think about the farmers who work tirelessly tapping cornstalks and filling thousands (probably millions) of these tiny buckets. h/t Ed Bell 🤪
