We’re going to have a lot of pigs available to go to story city locker this fall, if you’re needing a half or whole to fill your freezer this winter please let us know so we can get you on the list so that when there is time in the locker schedule we can get them in.

While the pigs do thoroughly enjoy the mud, the amount of rain we’ve gotten this month has made their pen unlivable. With the threat of more heavy rain coming this week we made the decision to move them to higher ground. Thankful to have such great neighbors that offered to help out until conditions improve!

Don’t forget if you’re worried about all this imported meat coming in that we have pork, lamb and goats available now and will have beef available in November. While the upfront costs may seem like a lot you’ll have the piece of mind knowing exactly where your meat came from and how it was raised! If you’d like more information I’d love to chat with you!

Just a friendly reminder that we’re getting ready to take lambs down to state fair this sunday the 16th-Tuesday the 18th. While we will be coming home each day, we will have very limited availability so the farm will be closed those days for any pick ups. If you are needing anything please plan to make arrangements prior to Sunday or plan to wait until Wednesday. Thank you for understanding!

More pigs headed to the locker on Monday! Who wants one or half? Pm for more info.

It was shearing day today starting at 6am to try to beat the heat. A big thanks to Kyle Hoogendoorn for getting them knocked out for the year! Unfortunately the wool has no value anymore so to the landfill it goes.

I’ve been working on this flight pen for the pigeons for several weeks as time allowed, well despite the heat I finally finished it up today. I hope my good buddy Kevin is looking down and enjoying finally getting to watch his birds again!
