Heritage Hill Farm

Heritage Hill Farm We are a small family farm located right outside of Ames, Iowa. We also occasionally sell through local food coops, restaurants, and grocery stores.

We specialize in organically grown mixed produce that is available in our weekly CSA share program. Heritage Hill Farm was founded in the Fall of 2012, when land was purchased from a heritage farm family in the edge of Ames. We specialize in heirloom tomatoes but also have a wide variety of other vegetables including: cabbage, broccoli, carrots, eggplant, onions, potatoes, kale, lettuce, spinach,

potatoes, sweet and hot peppers- and much more! Our crops are all organically grown. Our products are available to customers in the weekly share program (CSA), restaurants, grocery stores, cooperatives, and other outlets.

Happy Earth Day!
We are committed to producing organically grown, high quality fruits and vegetables through sustainable methods at the farm outside of Ames.

We care deeply about improving our land by managing cover crops, encouraging our pollinators, and being mindful of our inputs. We need to leave the land as good, and actually even better than we started with.

Anytime that you can access and support local foods, you are supporting farmers and producers who are committed to these same practices! You’re also helping our local economy thrive.

Cheers to all of our customers and supporters- thank you for your dedication and commitment. Wishing our fellow farmers and producer friends a great growing season as well.

Spring is just around the corner!
We’ve been busy wrapping up the farm plans, gearing up for some new crops, and starting seeds.

New this year…
The first ON FARM plant sale coming in mid May!

We’ll be offering up our organically grown starter plants for your home gardens and containers, located just a few miles South of Ames.

There will be over 70 varieties of heirloom and hybrid tomatoes (some of the well knowns and some of the very, very hard to find, especially delicious ones), 30+ varieties of sweet and hot peppers, cool season crops, herbs, flowers, and more. Keep an eye on our page for details as it gets closer…

Our starter plants will also be available at our retail partners and markets early this Spring. Plus, special pricing for our farm share members and Farm to Folk customers!

Today is the perfect day to plant garlic!
Garlic is planted in the Fall, overwinters and then is one of the first crops to emerge next Spring. This is one of the best looking seed garlic crops that we’ve ever worked with… next season could be a very good one!
