Closed today. Too wet out. We’ll be open Thursday and Friday for lunch on campus and then will be taking next week off. Enjoy your Thanksgiving!

We will be closed for lunch today. The giant oak tree that is behind our spot has a developed a large crack in one of the trunk splits. The very large branch that is in danger of falling is right over the cart! It would kill me and anyone else underneath if it came down and if I did manage to escape, the cart would be destroyed.
I noticed the crack yesterday and alerted campus services and they are removing either that branch or the entire tree depending on the tree’s condition.
I do hope they save the tree. It’s an incredibly old oak tree. The one in my front yard is half the diameter and that one was a sapling in the 60s.
It was there when my grandparents were students in the 40s. It was there when my parents first met on the campus in 1971. It was there when I was a true freshman in 1997 and a returning student in 2008. It’s been there providing shade for the foodcart and our customers since we started serving lunch on campus in 2014. It would be sad to lose such a majestic oak.
