National Pie Day 3/14 - Of course i’m dreaming of Key West especially with a Nor’easter upon us today. So it’s Key Lime Pie! In Key West you can’t miss a visit to Kermit’s Key Lime Pie Shoppe on the waterfront just off Duval Street. A specialty that Kermits offers is a chocolate dipped slice of Key Lime Pie, “on a stick”. Thought I’d give it a try today. II baked a Key Lime Pie and after it cooled, I cut into equal pie slices and popped them on the freezer. I tempered 70% cocoa dark chocolate and dipped those fresh baked, frozen, Key Lime Pie slices. Ooh la la- pretty perfect. At Wicked Smaht Crepes I plan on offering a few signature items to add to your crepe purchase. Chocolate dipped Key Lime Pie slices just might be one of them. So good.
