To Our Farm Community,

It is with heavy hearts that we share the passing of Ed Cook, father of our very own Farmer Glenn Cook.

Ed was a beloved husband, father, grandfather and a special part of the family whose roots run deep here at C***r Hill. Our hearts are with Glenn and the entire family as they remember and celebrate Ed’s life.

We ❤️ Hot Apple C***r

It's peak apple season, and the field crew is pressing fresh c***r 2x this week. Our farmers are harvesting such a high volume of apples right now that we're keeping the c***r press extra busy. And with cooler temperatures on the way, we're stocking up for a weekend full of hot apple c***r.

🍎 C***r Pressing
Fresh apple c***r starts with whole apples picked from the orchards. Fruit is loaded in bins and brought to the pressing room to washed, ground into a pulp and pressed to extract their juice. Unlike filtered apple juice, traditional apple c***r retains some of the fine apple particles that give it its signature cloudy appearance and rich apple flavor.

🍎 Apple Blend
Great c***r isn't made from just one apple variety. Combining sweet, tart and aromatic apples creates a more balanced, complex flavor. As different varieties ripen throughout the season, the flavor of fresh c***r can naturally change from one pressing to the next. The best part? No added sugar needed. The apples bring all the natural sweetness.

🍎 Why Press More Often?
Apples are harvested as they reach maturity, and during peak season, the volume coming in from the orchards is especially high. Pressing multiple times helps us turn that seasonal abundance into fresh c***r for the Farm Store.

🍎 Apple Picking Update - Last Week!
Braeburn, Carousel, Cortland, Gala, Linda Mac, Melrouge, Pioneer Mac, Ruby Mac, Staybrite and Suncrisp are still picking. So many apples left! 👏👏👏 Make sure to follow the map at check-in for best picking locations. As we near the end of the apple season, the location matters. PYO open daily 8-5.

Climb aboard for a scenic ride through the farm! Saturday–Monday, 9 am–4 pm. Free with PYO tickets or $5 per person ages 3+.

3. 🎶 Enjoy Free Live Music
Kick off the weekend on Fall Friday (2:30–5:30 pm), then enjoy two live bands daily Saturday–Monday, 10 am–4 pm.

COMING SOON: Sparkling Mead 🍯🥂

Something new is bubbling in the c***ry! We’re introducing our first Sparkling Mead, crafted with honey from our own C***r Hill Farm hives.

Mead is one of the world’s oldest fermented beverages, traditionally made by fermenting honey and ours brings that tradition right here to the farm. Made in our c***ry alongside our hard c***r blends, this carbonated version is bright, crisp and beautifully effervescent.

Farmers do it all. 🌱🍎

On any given day, you might see one of our farmers tilling a field, picking apples, making c***r donuts, fixing equipment, hauling crops or even parking cars on a busy fall weekend. That’s farming. You do what the day asks of you.

And few people embody that better than Nick. Nick joined the C***r Hill Farm family in 1992 and returned 16 years ago to work alongside his brothers, Grigore, our Field Manager, and Marin, our Assistant Field Manager. Today, farming here is still very much a family affair, with brothers, nephews, brothers-in-law and multiple generations working side by side.

Nick is one of our most skilled and versatile farmers. He tills and prepares the land, operates equipment, harvests fruit with incredible speed and care, and tackles whatever job needs doing that day. His work is woven into so much of what you see, eat and experience here. Nick shows up, shift gears and keeps going. Season after season. Job after job. With skill, grit and a whole lot of care for the land.

This is farming. And Nick is one of the most important people who make the farm, the farm. ❤️
