Tomorrow! 🍎🍏 Summer apple picking begins (and corn maze 🌽 is open!). Warm days, crisp apples, and plenty of other pick-your-own fruit n' flowers across the farm. There’s something special about apple picking this time of the year. We’re kicking off the season with 4 early-season apple varieties ready for picking. Here’s what’s ripe + ready:

🍎 PAULARED
Attractive fruit with dusty red colored skin covered in gold spots reminiscent of the well-known McIntosh. Its white flesh is both sweet, tart and crisp. Good for baking.

🍎 ZESTAR
Sweet and tangy with accents of brown sugar, Zestar is known for its unique flavor that intensifies at room temperature. Best for fresh eating and in baked goods, sauces, desserts and salads. Praised for its shelf life, Zestar can be stored up for 2 months with or without refrigeration.

🍏 GINGERGOLD
Great crisp & juicy eating apple. Tart in early season but will turn to a rich and spicy flavor towards late season. Retains great flesh quality for storing.

🍎 REDFREE
A crisper texture than typically found in summer apples, Redfree can be kept in a fridge for several weeks after picking.

2nds available! 🍑🍅 Tomatoes and peaches are both at their peak right now, so this is the time to get creative in the kitchen (see ideas ⬇).

2nds have a few bumps, bruises, cracks, or other cosmetic imperfections but are put perfectly excellent fruit to delicious use for cooking, preserving, or blending them when looks don’t matter much.

🍅 2nd tomatoes are perfect for:
• Homemade tomato sauce or marinara
• Salsa and bruschetta
• Tomato soup or gazpacho
• Roasting and freezing for later
• Canning and preserving

🍑 2nd peaches are great for:
• Peach jam or preserves
• Cobblers, crisps, and pies
• Smoothies and sauces
• Grilling or roasting

We’ve got a BIG week ahead - live music, kids’ programs, PYO fruit, the opening of our Mini Corn Maze, Corn Festival AND a 21+ Corn Crawl Tasting event featuring Amesbury's own BeerWolf Brewery! Here’s what’s happening:

Blueberry, peach + blackberry picking available! Flower garden is closed. Peach picking is walking only. Expect inclines + uneven terrain. No hayrides available. Rest of the week updates coming Monday and Tuesday!
