Thanks for a good summer. Berries mostly done. We're leaving our self-serve open at the end of the driveway for the next few days. If you want to come look for a pound or two, there are some late ripening berries out there. Also some over-ripe so stay away from those. Dear Blueberry Fiends:

Next pick will be tomorrow, Saturday morning 8-11:30AM. Looks like smoke will be out of here by then and there will be plenty of berries to pick. This will be one of our last weekend pick days, if not the last. We'll have some evening picks in the next week or so, but if you've been waiting to get out here, now is the time, hope to see you!

Dear Blueberry Friends:

We had hoped to open tomorrow, Friday morning, as weather is cooling. But, news stations are saying dangerous air quality until at least Friday afternoon. If the air does improve we'll have a nice pick on Friday evening. Yesterday, people were picking as many as 5-7 pounds per person. This time of year the crowds are thinning as folks have already stocked the freezer. Still plenty of good ripe berries to be had. Will update tomorrow morning with a Friday or Saturday open time.

Chance Creek Blues - Blueberry Farm
Dear Blueberry Crowd:

Small crowd today, with some rain (we were actually dry here until a little shower at noon). People picking impressive amounts still, so we'll open both Saturday and Sunday. This means Saturday will likely be a slightly better pick, but since my neighbor is also open tomorrow, Sunday should be fine. Same time both days 8-11AM. Ripening is happening fast and even one day of sun and heat brings more ripening.

If you aren't able to get out here, send a message to [email protected] and we'll see what we can set up for you. If you've never been here, we're at 9173 Peasley Rd, Amherst OH and we'll hand you a lined bucket. People pick anywhere from 2-6 pounds in an hour depending on conditions and experience, then we weigh the berries when you're done. We take checks, venmo, paypal and cash but not credit cards. We don't have porta-potties on site so plan ahead. There are two blueberry farms on our road -- look for the Chance Creek Blues sign and pull in there.
