Taproot Stud Quality Irish Hunters for Jumpers, Event and Field. TSH is a small Irish Sport Horse breeding operation standing ISH stallion Taproot Dutch Diamond.

Taproot's goal is to breed sound, sane athletes to be competitive jumpers, event and first flight field hunters suited to the ambitious amateur rider. We breed for movement, jump and stamina to be competitive in the big rings. We use a combination of Irish Draught with Thoroughbred and 'blood' warmbloods to create an elegant, noble horse with the aesthetic and performance of a classic Irish hunter. TSH has limited youngstock for available for sale. If you are interested in one of our horses please let us know. Preference is given to show homes.

Listing our stunning yearling gelding.

He’s by Winsomes Guidon out of Mystic Replica/Thor of Greystone. Some of the very best driving Connemara lines in the world combined with proven eventing and jumper lines. One of those ‘if you know-you know’ pedigrees! We are retaining his full sister for our program.

Strong smaller frame. We expect him to mature 15.2-3. Exceptionally easy going and kid safe. Doesn’t get excited about much other than a feed bucket.

Good efficient mover. He is well suited to a driving career as well as most jumping disciplines.

Last batch of hay to get stacked in the barn. Sourcing was particularly challenging this year. Early drought decimated our first cutting. Fuel prices made shipping in cost prohibitive. We had to find local.

Picking up a Fortify order next week after the rain passes and we should be well set through Christmas.

This is Meadowlark ‘23 by Taproot Diamond Peregrine o/o Expecting XX. She was an undiagnosed twin and is finishing small. Max and Meadowlark love each other and he’s taking charge of breaking her in. They hope to do some competitive trail classes next year.
