First, a huge THANK YOU to everyone who came out for the 34th Annual Virginia W**e & Garlic Festival! Saturday was such a wonderful day, and we are incredibly grateful to our guests, vendors, musicians, volunteers, and staff who helped make it happen!! We love seeing this community come together each year and it takes each one of you to make our vision come to life!
We are especially thankful to the vendors who stayed with us on Sunday and did their best to make the day work, along with everyone who showed patience and understanding as conditions unfolded.
Unfortunately, Sunday brought unexpected challenges that ultimately forced us to close the festival early. Heavy overnight rain caused multiple vendors' tents to collapse, including tents over our entertainment areas. We still opened 10 AM and did our best to continue, but after dealing with the damage throughout the grounds, the unexpected thunder and lightning made the decision to close necessary for everyone's safety.
We know this was disappointing and inconvenient especially for those who had just arrived or traveled to spend the day with us expecting a rain or shine event. Please know that we are truly sorry for the inconvenience and understand the frustration. In 34 years, we have never had to cancel a day of the festival. We have always been committed to operating rain or shine, but the safety of everyone must come first.
For guests affected by Sunday's closure, we will be offering a resolution - we just ask that you reach out through our email w**ery@rebecw**ery.com by 10/20/26 rather than leaving unpleasant comments and reviews as these greatly impact our image and we do not think they can accurately display us as a business.
As a small, locally owned and run w**ery, this festival takes an entire year of planning, preparation, and investment, and it plays a huge role in supporting our business throughout the year - which made Sunday's decision no light thing for us!
Thank you again to everyone who joined us this weekend and to those who have supported this festival for 34 years. We are grateful for this community and hope to welcome you back to Rebec Vineyards soon!!
